Eye contour: everything you need to know

What is eye contour

The skin around our eyes has 3 major constants:

1. It is very thin, the thinnest in the body, and is therefore very delicate.
2. It basically lacks sebaceous glands, so since it does not produce sebum, it has no protection;
3. It is in constant motion: it is full of muscles, which strain the elasticity of the area, and even if we decide to stop all kinds of facial expressions, the fact remains that we blink about 1,000 times a day.

From this simple information alone it goes without saying that this particular skin area should be treated differently, with specially formulated cosmetic products. Consequently, not all cosmetics may be suitable.

Other factors that influence eye contour issues are:

• PH, as it is different, somewhere between that of the skin and that of the tear sac. This is why some facial cosmetics in contact with the eyes burn!
• Our daily habits, hours of sleep, sodium-rich diet, smoking, alcohol, sedentary life in front of pc, smartphone, Television (No one touch Netflix!).
• Genetics!
• The passage of time: as we age, we produce less collagen and elastin, the scaffolding of our skin.
• The sun: damage from the sun's rays always remains the most influential cause of wrinkle and spot formation.

So are we doomed?
No, just have realistic expectations, because while it is true that a cosmetic can never erase wrinkles or other issues, it is also true that if formulated well, it can visibly improve them.

What are the issues that plague the eye area?

• Wrinkles, the infamous crow's feet;
• Bags;
• Dark circles;
• Dryness of the periocular area;
• Drooping eyelid;
• Loss of tone as the years go by, becoming less and less turgid.

How to improve these issues?

• First, always try to apply products specifically for the eye area. If, on the other hand, you are more experienced, you will already know that a moisturizer, if it is not overly rich enough to dissolve make-up, (concealer that makes creases to be clear) will keep the area where wrinkles form moisturized and elastic, thus slowing the formation of wrinkles.
• Avoid like the devil cosmetics containing exfoliating, astringent, purifying acids. Products containing high percentages of vitamin E and with a PH between 4.5 and 5.5 are fine (different PHs will burn).
• The movements with which you apply the products, do not do the miracle, but they do make a difference: with the right techniques, in addition to stimulating the muscles, as with those of the body when doing body workouts, they can affect the penetration of the product (getting into the grooves, i.e., the fine lines, for good), and accelerate the drainage of stagnant fluids.

• If you suffer from puffiness, salt in cooking is your enemy! Try to limit it, as well as alcohol and smoking...whatever, if you don't have healthy habits your appearance suffers in general, it's a truism!
• Always wear sunglasses when you are outdoors, large ones with UV filters: they will help keep your eyes from squinting and protect you from the rays caused by the sun's rays!

Wendy's Remedies

We at Chiò, with Wendy's Prodigies, have formulated two products specifically for eye care:

OC[CHIÒ]LINO

OC[CHIÒ]LINO is an eye contour cream capable of blending with the periocular skin, performing a long-lasting wrinkle-filling action and smoothing out the blemishes of puffiness and dark circles, reducing puffiness and lightening haloes.
Hydrates and deeply nourishes the skin, creating a protective film and giving a tighter, firmer appearance.

Unlike the cheeks, for example, the eye area needs more fat quota. So will any oil or butter do? But also no.
We need to keep this area well moisturized, but without forgetting comfort. Eyeliner has a melt-in texture, it's just the right amount of rich formulation that melts into the skin without leaving greasy marks and white trails-it's a pleasant sensory experience as well as a cosmetic one.

In addition to snail slime, which helps keep the area smooth, moisturized and helps the skin tissues regenerate, Occhiolino contains Hyaluronic Acid with a reticular structure. Unlike a linear-structure hyaluronic acid, the enzymes in our skin take much longer to break down its bonds-this type of hyaluronic acid stays on the skin longer, prolonging its anti-aging effect. It is basically a dermal filler

The company producing this molecule compared cross-linked hyaluronic acid with linear hyaluronic acid, resulting in the finding that cross-linking has a superior stability advantage, and this translates into a higher amount of hydration, demonstrated in vitro: the results of this study show that cross-linking hyaluronic acid has superior water-binding properties to linear hyaluronic acid, comparable to that of a super-absorbent polymer.

In vivo evaluation: "Lasting" wrinkle filling.
In addition to the short-term effect, the "lasting" effect of wrinkle reduction was analyzed. These properties were examined at different concentration levels.
The positive effect on skin roughness (wrinkle depth reduction) lasts for at least 6 hours.

The presence of Caffeine promotes microcirculation; mallow water is de-reddening and moisturizing; seaweed extract has antioxidant, decongestant and brightening actions, along with Niacinamide; avocado, rosehip and flax oils nourish and have elasticizing properties; actions amplified by extracts of centella asiatica and ginkgo biloba.

[SGONFIED]

Unlike Occhiolino, which is a cream, Sgonfiò is a mask for the eye area to be kept on, even overnight, in a generous layer.

SGONFIÒ is the in-house mask [CHIÒ] formulated just for the eye area. Sometimes you have a pressing need to help yourself look more rested and diminish that dull, bluish complexion typical of dark circles. You then need a shock treatment, an SOS (Save Eyes Now). SGONFIÒ performs a refreshing, moisturizing, soothing, draining and brightening action.
If your bags are from stagnant fluid, and not fat, it drains them beautifully: hello bags!
It is composed of a mix of botanical actives and plant oils that with vegetable glycerin and snail slime manage to plump the area, lighten the bluishness, and deflate the bags: try it to believe!

In general, eye contour products may contain exfoliants, menthol and fragrances that can irritate the skin. To remedy the problem we have included a hypoallergenic fragrance with saline olfactory notes.
